Bases Were Stolen and Home Runs Were Hit During Our Family Fun Day on the Dodgers Dreamfield at Jack Bulik Park in Fontana

Our Family Fun Day event on Sunday, November 14 was a community celebration, made possible through the generosity of Baker’s Drive Thru and the City of Fontana.

Held at Jack Bulik Park in Fontana on the Dodgers Dreamfield, the Family Fun Day gave eventgoers the opportunity to learn baseball fundamentals, enjoy a free Baker’s meal, and participate in games and activities for all ages. The Dodger Dreamfield is universally accessible for people with disabilities, which gave all interested individuals the opportunity to participate.

The event kicked off with Fontana City Councilman Jesus Sandoval thanking the volunteers, local coaches, and organizations for their work creating an accessible baseball clinic for the community. At the conclusion of the opening remarks, it was time to hit the field so participants could have the opportunity to practice different baseball fundamentals. Coaches from the City of Fontana led participants through batting, fielding, and catching exercises in 15-minute increments before the new skills were put to the test with a scrimmage game.

Bases were stolen, home runs were hit, and each team walked away feeling victorious. The baseball clinic wasn’t the only fun, however. From face painting to Thanksgiving-inspired crafting, associates from Easterseals led a variety of free activities for families to enjoy.

Along with the collaborative Family Fun Day event, Easterseals Southern California has teamed up with Baker’s Drive Thru for the annual ‘Round Up’ campaign that kicked off earlier this year.

“For the past 34 years, Baker’s Drive Thru has helped raised over five million dollars to support Easterseals services,” shared Nancy Weintraub, the Chief Advancement Officer at Easterseals Southern California. “We are so grateful for their continued support through events like the Family Fun Day and our ‘Round Up’ campaign.”

Now until November 28, the ‘Round Up’ campaign allows Baker’s customers to round up to the nearest dollar to support Easterseals services. One hundred percent of the proceeds support life-changing services for children and adults with disabilities, helping individuals achieve personal goals.
